Not too long ago, my mom said she was cleaning out her jewelry box and thought  she had some gold jewelry  I may like to have.  My mom doesn’t own a whole lot of jewelry, and I never remember seeing her wear any gold jewelry, nor do I remember seeing any in her jewelry box in the past when I’ve looked through the few beautiful pieces she does have.

 

Being the overly curious daughter that I am, I asked her when she got the gold jewelry, because I didn’t ever remember seeing it.  She said, she didn’t have it in her regular jewelry box, but in a jewelry case daddy gave her years ago. She said, she had the gold jewelry tucked away in the box because it’s something that one of her boyfriends gave her when she was in high school. She’d never thought much about it since, until she was going through the jewelry box and came across the jewelry.   I told her I’d be thrilled to have the gold jewelry, but  I’d like to know more about the guy who gave it to her.    She said it was someone she dated when she met my dad. But the moment she saw my dad, she knew he was the man she’d spend the rest of her life with. From that moment on, they’ve never been apart.
